Wattpad request Snowball fight

She was surprised when she awoke and found that it was
snowing as it was now early spring. She saw the snow as she walked to the
window and thought to herself that as it blanketed the ground, it was one of the most beautiful sights she had seen since
arriving. She wondered at how long it
would last as the snow kept falling in a steady pattern. It was going to be
awhile before it stopped she could see that far ahead and wondered if the
warlords would be here in the castle during the storm or if they would stay at
their own manors for the day.

Her answer was quickly found
as she started the morning chores that
she could do as storm days were often the only time the castle slowed down and
relaxed a little. As she was walking to meet
with the maids to adjust the schedule for washing,
she ran into Masamune and Mitsuhide who both had taken rooms at the castle for
the winter just in case of a late storm or an early morning meeting either did
not want to be late for. Hideyoshi and
Mitsunari also had rooms in the castle that doubled as their work spaces during winter. The wild card was
Ieyasu who scoffed at the idea of having a room in the castle, but on days where the weather had turned frigid
he had requested one, so he didn’t freeze
at night when he would have to walk home. She didn’t know at the time that the
storm had started while they were in a late night war counsel and everyone had
decided to stay the night in case they had to be called in early the next
morning. No one wanted to trudge through whatever was left on the ground that early in the morning. She was told the rainy season was also the same and
though they all had manor’s within a short distance,
they all would stay the night or a week if need be as the roads would be
nothing but deep and thick mud.

As they all started to talk at once and she spotted Ieyasu
and knew they all were here and an idea popped into her head. She wondered if
they would be receptive to the idea. Nobunaga turned into the hallway, and she figured it would be time for all the war lords to get to work with counsel. As she thought all the warlords filed into the audience
hall and she was again alone with her thoughts. She went on with her day
as if she hadn’t had the silly idea in the first place.

Three hours after the war counsel began it was let out, and from the window,
on the side of the room they could all see it was still snowing pretty hard. No
one had seen the storm roll in as it seemed to be the last big storm of the
season or so they hoped. They all had seen the look in the princess’s eyes as
she talked about doing something later in the snow, but all had been called into
the meeting before she could say what it was. They had heard a weird ‘thunk’
sound on the side of the room and Nobunaga went to the door and slid it open
just to catch a snowball to his face. They could also hear a squeak and then as
the snow slowly fell off Nobunaga a fit of laughter that could only come from
one person, Azchui’s Princess. The war lords
all stood in fear as they saw the snowball land squarely on their lord’s face,
then as the peals of laughter came from outside they all joined in except for
Hideyoshi who was frozen still figuring out what to do.

Nobunaga felt the wet snow impact, and the surprise of it felt him standing still. As the realization
of what had happened and who was the culprit as she was now doubled over with
laughter he inwardly smiled to himself. He had remembered playing in the snow
with his siblings and often found it was fun. He waited for the snow to fall
off before he took off in a run to which he could hear his allies taking off
behind him as she squealed again and ran for cover as he grabbed a handful of
snow, cupped it, and threw it at her. Soon it seemed everyone was joining in
the fun as the six grown men and the princess were laughing and throwing
handfuls of snowballs at each other.

Soon the maids and vassals were gathered as a large crowd
watching the seven people having a war with the snow. Everyone was cheering
when the princess, who surprisingly had a good arm and aim, hit one of the six war lords and on the flip side booed and hissed when one of them hit her. She
was running through the snow as if her
feet were not touching the ground and was
surprisingly fast. Soon, however, they had to call it quits as Hideyoshi called
for everyone to go inside and warm up with tea. She had been excited but could
feel her clothes wet and cold beginning to freeze slowly. She knew it was time
also to go warm up and her smile could brighten even that dreary day. The war lords for their parts had fun too and
couldn’t remember the time they had all done that when they were boys before
the responsibility of the world rested on their shoulders. They spent the rest
of the day remising of those times and the event
itself as they all agreed’ the tiny princess and her sneak attack on Nobunaga
as the battle started was also the winning shot. She smiled and hoped for maybe
one more snowfall before spring sprang into action, and they could have one more battle. The war lords were all trying to figure out their own plans if another snowfall happened as well.
